Tablet-style computers (such as a Microsoft Surface) must run a supported operating system. Tablets running iPadOS, iOS, and Android do not satisfy the laptop requirement. Laptop computers running Windows 10 S, Windows 10 Single Language Edition with a non-english language, versions of Windows older than Windows 10, versions of macOS older than macOS Big Sur (11.0), and Chrome OS (Chromebooks) do not meet the minimum requirements. Many computers running older versions of macOS can upgrade to macOS Big Sur (11.0) at no charge. If you have a Windows 10 computer that is running in S mode, you can switch out of S mode.
